As you should be aware, we need members to volunteer to help make the local SME Chapter successful. Like all not-for-profit groups, we are only successful if the members are ACTIVELY involved in the organization.
Manufacturing in America must make significant changes to keep manufacturing here. We need your help to get students interested in manufacaturing again, or there will be no people left in the US to follow us. The majority of manufacturing engineers are over the age of 35 and no one under them in age. In some companies, they are over 45 average aged engineers. We have to change this trend.
We are trying to come up with new and creative ways to reach the younger generation of manufacturing engineers and have established a committee to come up with these new ideas and ways. We need your help to make this succcessful.
If you will help us make this Chicago Manufacturing Organization one of the most successful, we will make sure your time is well spent. If you just are along for the ride to be part of the organization, then we will do the best we can with the volunteers that we have and hopefully, that will satisfy your needs.
